Location: Edinburgh and Bristol
Salary: £36,000 per annum
We maintain a flexible working policy to allow for hybrid working when appropriate. Teams typically spend around 60% of their time in the office, although this may vary depending on project and business needs.
If you are an engineering graduate who has recently graduated, or is due to graduate next year, we would love to hear from you. We have exciting opportunities for 5 Software Developer graduates to launch their career within a world-leading technology company developing advanced software solutions for uncrewed maritime systems. You can be based in either our Edinburgh or Bristol office.
Working as part of a collaborative engineering project team, you will contribute to the design, development, testing and integration of innovative software solutions that are deployed by customers across the globe. You will be supported through structured development, training and mentoring to help you grow into a highly capable software engineering professional.

Main Purpose of the Role
As a Graduate Software Developer, you will contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, helping to transform customer requirements into high-quality solutions while developing your technical expertise and gaining experience across a range of technologies and projects. Substantial support, training and development will be provided to enable you to grow within the role and build a successful career in software engineering.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test and deliver robust C# software solutions.
- Contribute to software design, development, testing and integration activities across engineering projects.
- Deliver work to a high standard while proactively identifying opportunities for software improvement.
- Work with colleagues to understand, analyse and break down customer and project requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with engineers, technical specialists and external stakeholders.
- Participate in code reviews, testing activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop knowledge of modern software engineering practices, tools and technologies.
Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline, or working towards gaining a degree in a relevant discipline in 2027.
- Ideally a focus on developing software using C# gained through academic, personal or commercial projects, though a background in other programming languages would also be suitable (Java, Kotlin, TypeScript).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and developing technical skills.
- Eligible to apply for UK Security Clearance.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of modern C# language features.
- Experience of XAML-based Windows UI development, ideally WPF.
- Understanding of software verification and deployment techniques.
- Familiarity with defect tracking and collaboration tools such as GitLab or Jira.
- Knowledge of Continuous Delivery frameworks such as Jenkins.
