A brilliant opportunity for a recent graduate to launch their software engineering career with an established, independent gaming studio in Birmingham. You'll join a close-knit, highly skilled development team building software from the ground up — a rare chance to learn fast, get hands-on with real products from day one, and grow quickly alongside experienced engineers who genuinely invest in the people around them.

About the client

Our client is a privately owned, independent UK game design studio based in Birmingham with seven years of operation behind them. Everything is designed, developed and built in-house — from the gaming platform through to the physical cabinets — giving their team full ownership across the stack. Their products feature across pubs, clubs and arcades nationwide, and they're proud to be one of the leading providers of fresh, dynamic digital gaming content in the market. As a growing business, they're at an exciting stage and keen to bring in fresh talent to develop for the long term.

What you'll be doing

  • Writing, testing and maintaining clean, reliable code in Java, C++ or JavaScript
  • Working closely with senior engineers to develop new features and games
  • Contributing to the in-house gaming platform and product suite
  • Learning the wider tech stack and development process end to end
  • Collaborating across the team to bring designs through to finished, working software

  • A recent graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline
  • Solid foundational knowledge of Java, C++ or JavaScript
  • A genuine passion for software development and a hunger to learn
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • A team player who's happy working fully on-site in Birmingham
  • Able to demonstrate coding ability through projects, placements or coursework
