Graduate Software Engineer (Computer Science)

About the Role

Are you a recent Computer Science graduate looking to launch your career in software engineering? We are seeking a passionate, analytical, and motivated Graduate Software Engineer to join our growing technology team. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for graduates who enjoy designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications while working with modern technologies and agile development practices.

No prior professional experience is required. Full training and mentorship will be provided to help you build expertise in software development, cloud computing, APIs, DevOps, databases, and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following industry best practices.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues and defects.
  • Participate in code reviews and software testing activities.
  • Assist in developing web applications, desktop applications, or backend services.
  • Work with databases to store, retrieve, and manage application data.
  • Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, DevOps, Business Analysts, and Product Managers.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Assist with application deployment, monitoring, and performance optimization.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies, programming languages, and software engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline.
  • Recent graduate or up to 1 year of experience.
  • Strong understanding of programming fundamentals and object-oriented programming (OOP).
  • Basic knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Basic understanding of databases and SQL.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and software development methodologies.

Preferred Skills

  • Basic knowledge of one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C++.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and frontend frameworks such as React or Angular.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
  • Familiarity with Git and version control systems.
  • Understanding of REST APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD concepts is an advantage.
  • Academic projects, GitHub repositories, hackathons, internships, or personal software projects are beneficial but not required.
