Graduate Software Engineer | London | Up to £54,000 + NYC Onboarding 🚀

If you’ve recently graduated from a top university but already have experience shipping real software in a commercial environment, this is one of the strongest early-career opportunities in London.

I’m working with a rapidly scaling US AI company to build out their engineering team in London.

About the Opportunity

This isn't a traditional graduate programme.

You’ll join a small, high-performing team where engineers are expected to take ownership, move quickly, and speak directly with customers rather than simply work through tickets.

From day one, you'll be building production AI software for major enterprise customers, working directly with senior engineers in London and New York and taking responsibility far earlier than you would in most graduate roles.

Your first two weeks will also be spent onboarding in New York alongside the US engineering team, with everything paid for.

Key Requirements

They’re looking for graduates who have:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

  • Strong academics from a top university
  • Commercial software engineering experience through an internship, placement, startup, or part-time role
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, ideally where you’ve owned features or projects and shipped things into production
  • Confidence speaking to customers and stakeholders – ideally you’ve already had some client/customer-facing exposure
  • Strong Python skills alongside experience with modern web technologies
  • Hands-on experience or a genuine interest in AI, LLMs, and AI agents

The Ideal Candidate

The type of person they want is really important.

They want someone who is comfortable being given a problem rather than a list of instructions. Someone who can speak to a customer, understand what they actually need, work out what to build, take ownership of it, and get something into production quickly.

Responsibilities

You’ll be:

  • Building AI-powered products for enterprise customers
  • Owning features from idea through to production
  • Speaking directly with customers and understanding their problems
  • Working across Python and modern web technologies
  • Shipping production code from day one
  • Working closely with engineers from backgrounds including Google DeepMind and Meta
  • Learning quickly in an environment where priorities move fast
