Ohme is on a mission to accelerate the global transition to clean, affordable energy.

We do that by serving as an integrated hardware and software smart-grid platform, focused on the residential EV charging market.

The worlds of energy, transport and artificial intelligence are colliding and Ohme is at the heart of this new era. By using technology and data integrations to connect cars, chargers, people, energy providers and more, Ohme has a powerful platform that puts the consumer at the core.

Ohme has been selling its chargers to consumers since mid 2019 and has had exponential growth since. We are now operating in multiple countries and have partnerships with the likes of VW, Mercedes, Octopus Energy, and other innovative brands.

We are scaling up the business and are building out the team for rapid growth. If you’re interested joining a fast-growing cleantech venture on a data and AI-first journey to speed up the global transition to clean, affordable energy, read on!

Are you a talented and driven Recent Graduate looking to make a significant impact?

We are seeking a passionate individual to join our Business Systems team.

As a Graduate Software Engineer, you will help build and evolve the systems that power our ERP, integrations, and internal platform. Working closely with senior engineers, you'll design, build, and ship capabilities using our spec-driven development approach, including developing custom code within our ERP and gain exposure to cloud infrastructure, business systems, and automation as the platform scales into new markets. You'll start close to the code and the spec, working under close guidance on well-defined pieces of the architecture, and take on progressively larger and more ambiguous work, with more autonomy and less oversight as you build a track record of solid delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate: Work with senior engineers and business stakeholders to understand capability requirements, help elicit and document them clearly, and translate them into build-ready specifications.
  • Design & Develop: Design, code, test, and ship capabilities as part of Ohme's business systems architecture, on AWS: refactoring and improving components as the architecture evolves.
  • Automate: Build, integrate, and test automation workflows connecting our ERP, CRM, and customer-facing systems.
  • Customize: Develop and maintain custom code to extend and adapt ERP functionality alongside our other platform capabilities.
  • Innovate: Contribute new capability designs as the composable architecture grows to support new markets, products, and partnerships.
  • Optimize: Use Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK) to manage infrastructure changes safely, and support production issues through our bug management framework.
  • Ensure Quality: Review capability specifications against our spec-driven development standards before build, and validate delivered capabilities through rigorous testing.
  • Build with AI: Use agentic coding and AI-assisted development tools as part of day-to-day engineering: from specification drafting to code generation and review, to accelerate delivery without compromising quality.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You

  • You have a technical degree and some background in software engineering, either through work experience or your own projects.
  • You appreciate the importance of software engineering best practices like specification-driven design, IaC, testing, environment separation, and agile methodologies.
  • You are comfortable working with modern programming languages (e.g. Python, TypeScript), Git, and cloud providers like AWS.
  • You are motivated by solving real architectural challenges at scale; you have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, and a great engineering mindset.
  • You're happy working under close guidance early on, using discretion to work through routine problems and asking for help when something's genuinely ambiguous — and keen to take on more complex, self-directed work as you prove yourself.
  • Knowledge and interest in composable architecture, ERP systems, or the EV/CleanTech industry is a plus.
  • You're comfortable with, or curious about, AI-assisted and agentic coding tools, and keen to use them as a core part of how you build software rather than as a novelty.
