Graduate Structural Engineer | Competitive Salary + Excellent Benefits + Career Development

Are you a Graduate Structural Engineer looking for the next step in your career with a well-established consultancy that offers outstanding development, varied projects and genuine long-term career progression?

We're working with a highly respected multidisciplinary consultancy that is looking to appoint an experienced Graduate Structural Engineer to join its growing team central Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced Chartered Engineers on a diverse range of structural engineering projects while developing your technical expertise towards professional chartership.

The Role

As a Graduate Structural Engineer, you'll support senior engineers in delivering a wide variety of projects across the built environment. You'll gain hands-on experience throughout the project lifecycle, from initial design through to site inspections and client liaison.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing structural calculations, reports and technical drawings.
  • Assisting with structural design on a range of building projects.
  • Carrying out site inspections and structural surveys.
  • Liaising with architects, contractors, surveyors and other design professionals.
  • Providing technical support to clients and project teams.
  • Assisting with planning and Building Regulations submissions.
  • Monitoring construction works and ensuring projects are delivered to the required standards.
  • Supporting contract administration and project management activities.
  • Ensuring projects comply with current legislation, including CDM Regulations and other relevant standards.
  • Building strong relationships with clients through excellent communication and customer service.

We're looking for an ambitious experienced graduate who is eager to develop their engineering career within a supportive consultancy environment.

You'll ideally have:

  • A degree (BEng, BSc or MEng) in Structural or Civil Engineering.
  • Graduate membership (or eligibility) with IStructE or ICE.
  • Circa 2 years industry experience, ideally gained in a Consultancy environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using engineering software.
  • The ability to manage your workload and work to project deadlines.
  • An understanding of UK building regulations and structural design principles.
  • A full UK driving licence.
