About The Role
RGB Recruitment seeks a Graduate Structural Engineer for its Bristol office, joining an established multidisciplinary consultancy on a full-time basis. The role offers a salary between £31,000 and £36,000, alongside hybrid working and 25 days of annual leave. Working within the building structures team, you will contribute to diverse UK projects spanning residential, student accommodation, commercial, retail, and industrial sectors. Daily responsibilities involve collaborating with senior engineers on design and delivery, developing technical proficiency, and managing increasing responsibility. This position suits a graduate possessing several years of structural design experience, eager to progress professionally within a growing regional team. You will support project execution from conception through to completion, ensuring high-quality outcomes across all schemes.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the structural design and analysis of building structures projects across a variety of sectors.
- Prepare calculations, sketches, specifications, and design information under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Work closely with technicians to help translate design intent into clear, coordinated technical drawings and models.
- Attend project meetings, site visits, and design reviews, contributing to technical discussions and project coordination.
- Develop practical engineering judgement while supporting the delivery of efficient, buildable, and well-considered structural solutions.

Required Experience
- A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Previous UK consultancy experience within building structures, ideally gained across a range of project sectors.
- A developing understanding of structural design in materials such as steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
- Experience preparing calculations and design information for building structures projects.
- Working knowledge of relevant design codes, standards, and engineering principles.
- Familiarity with structural analysis and design software, along with Microsoft Office.
- A proactive approach to learning, problem solving, and taking ownership of tasks.
- Good communication skills and the confidence to liaise with colleagues, clients, and project teams.
- An interest in progressing towards chartership, with support from experienced engineers.
- Site experience or exposure to construction-stage support would be beneficial.
