We build and connect technologies to help protect people, property, and places. Our solutions foster the collaboration that’s critical for safer communities, safer schools, safer hospitals, safer businesses, and ultimately, safer nations. Connect with a career that matters, and help us build a safer future.

Department Overview

At Motorola Solutions, we believe that everything starts with safety. It’s the constant that empowers people to confidently move forward. Our Guardian Mobile MDT (Mobile Data Terminal) and Mobilisation Solutions provide the backbone for emergency response across the UK & Europe, enabling first responders to deliver a high level of service when every second counts.

In our never-ending pursuit of "Solving for safer," we build and connect technologies that help to protect people, property, and places. By integrating critical communications, video security, and command center applications, we empower emergency services with the tools needed to save lives and make everywhere safer.

Job Description

We are seeking an ambitious, technically minded Systems Engineer to join our Guardian Mobile delivery team. Designed for a high-performing graduate, this role offers the opportunity to take technical ownership of complex infrastructure, systems integration, and deployment environments for strategic blue-light emergency services customers across the UK.

Bridging the gap between operational needs and enterprise architecture, you will collaborate closely with Technical Project Managers to validate system designs and execute technical configurations from contract award through to go-live. Because our products support life-critical situations, you will apply a rigorous, highly analytical engineering approach to ensure high availability and resilience across every deployment. At Motorola Solutions, we foster a people-first culture that empowers you to explore your potential, innovate what's next, and grow your career. Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Systems Ownership & Configuration
    • Drive end-to-end technical configuration, system design validation, and integration of mobile solutions from contract award through live service delivery.
    • Capture customer operational requirements and translate them into robust, high-availability technical system architecture.
    • Ensure new infrastructure features and platform integrations align with core product engineering designs.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
