LEXeFISCAL LLP

LEXeFISCAL LLP is a boutique international tax and corporate law firm advising individuals, entrepreneurs and businesses on UK and international taxation, corporate transactions, commercial matters, private client work and HMRC disputes.

We are looking to recruit an intelligent, commercially minded individual to join our London team.

The appointment may be made at one of two levels, depending on experience:

  • Graduate Tax & Legal Intern / Junior Paralegal – for a recent graduate seeking substantive professional experience; or
  • Semi-Senior Paralegal – for a candidate with at least two years' relevant professional experience who is capable of handling work with a greater degree of independence.

This is not a general work-experience placement. The successful candidate will work on live client matters under professional supervision and will be expected to contribute meaningfully to the firm's work.

Who we are looking for

For the graduate position, applicants must hold, or be completing, a degree specifically in:

  • Law;
  • Accounting; or
  • Taxation.

We are not presently considering applicants from unrelated degree disciplines.

For appointment as a Semi-Senior Paralegal, candidates should have at least two years' relevant professional experience, preferably within a law firm, tax practice, accountancy practice or other professional advisory environment.

Relevant professional qualifications or progress towards qualifications such as CILEX, ATT, CTA, ACA or ACCA would be advantageous.

The work

The successful candidate may assist with:

  • UK and international tax research;
  • HMRC enquiries, investigations, appeals and dispute resolution;
  • drafting research notes, memoranda and professional correspondence;
  • preparing case chronologies and reviewing evidence;
  • corporate and commercial transactions;
  • mergers and acquisitions and transactional due diligence;
  • review of company and commercial documentation;
  • Companies Act and company secretarial matters;
  • trusts, estates and private client work;
  • reviewing legislation, case law and HMRC guidance;
  • preparing first drafts of legal and tax documents; and
  • supporting senior professionals on complex client assignments.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

For the semi-senior appointment, we would expect the successful candidate progressively to take responsibility for discrete pieces of client work, subject to appropriate supervision and review.

What matters to us

We are looking for someone who can think.

Academic qualifications are important, but so are judgement, curiosity, commercial awareness and the ability to identify the real issue rather than merely repeat what a textbook says.

Applicants should have:

  • strong written and spoken English;
  • excellent research and analytical skills;
  • very good attention to detail;
  • the ability to organise competing priorities;
  • sound professional judgement;
  • confidence working with complex factual material; and
  • a genuine interest in taxation and commercial legal work.

The ability to produce clear, concise written work is particularly important.

The firm advises UK and international clients and works with professional associates across a number of jurisdictions.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Partner and other members of the professional team and will gain exposure to matters that would not ordinarily be available to a junior professional in a large organisation.

Career development

For a graduate, the role provides an opportunity to develop practical professional skills across taxation, commercial law and dispute work.

For an experienced paralegal, there is scope to develop towards greater responsibility for client matters and to progress within the firm as the practice expands.

We are particularly interested in candidates who are looking for a genuine professional career rather than simply a short-term internship.

  • why you would like to join a specialist firm such as LEXeFISCAL LLP; and
  • what experience, skills or qualities you believe you would bring to the role.

Shortlisted applicants may be asked to undertake a short practical assessment involving legal or tax research, commercial analysis and written problem-solving.
