Graduate Teaching Assistant – Specialist School, North Birmingham
Are you a graduate looking to build a career supporting children with special educational needs? Do you want to gain practical experience in a specialist setting before progressing into teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, or another education-based profession? A specialist school on the outskirts of North Birmingham is looking to recruit a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team for the full academic year.

Supporting pupils with additional needs across the curriculum
The Role
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will become an important part of the classroom team, supporting pupils both academically and personally throughout the school day. Working closely with class teachers, you will provide 1-2-1 support for pupils who require additional guidance, lead small group learning activities, and help adapt lessons so every child can access the curriculum. You'll encourage pupils to develop their communication, confidence, and independence while celebrating the progress they make every day.
