Graduate Teaching Assistant – SEN Schools

📍 Woking, Surrey 💷 Up to £115 per day | Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities

Are you a recent graduate looking to gain valuable classroom experience before pursuing a career in teaching, educational psychology, clinical psychology, or a role within education?

Milk Education is recruiting Graduate Teaching Assistants in Woking & surrounding areas to support fantastic SEN schools across Surrey. This role is perfect for graduates who are passionate about supporting children and young people and want to make a real difference in their learning, development, and wellbeing.

Whether you have studied Psychology, Education, Criminology, English, Maths, Science, Sport, or another degree, this opportunity will help you develop valuable skills and experience within a specialist education setting.

The Role

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant in a SEN school, you will work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to provide support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEND and SEMH needs.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Helping students access learning and develop confidence
  • Supporting children with additional learning needs
  • Assisting teachers with classroom activities and interventions
  • Building positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and independence
  • Providing emotional and pastoral support where required

What We’re Looking For

  • A recent university graduate – all degree subjects considered
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, positive, and adaptable approach
  • Previous experience working with children, young people, SEND, or care settings is beneficial but not essential
  • Based in or able to commute to Guildford and surrounding Surrey areas
