The Role

The successful candidate will support either the Primary or Secondary phase, depending on their academic background, experience, and the needs of the school.

The school is particularly interested in graduates with strong subject expertise in:

Working closely with teachers, heads of department, and senior leaders, you will provide targeted academic support designed to raise attainment and help students achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom.
  • Delivering one-to-one and small-group academic interventions.
  • Providing targeted support for pupils who require additional challenge or assistance.
  • Helping to improve outcomes in Maths, English, or Science.
  • Supporting lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
  • Monitoring student progress and engagement.
  • Encouraging positive learning behaviours and academic confidence.
  • Acting as a positive role model for students across the school.
  • Contributing to the school's commitment to academic excellence and pupil wellbeing.

Person Specification

We are seeking outstanding graduates with an excellent academic record and a genuine passion for supporting young people.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree from a Russell Group University or Oxford/Cambridge University.
  • A First-Class Honours Degree or strong 2:1.
  • Excellent GCSE results and outstanding A-Level grades.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics, English, or Science.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive, professional, and enthusiastic approach.
  • A commitment to improving student outcomes.

  • Previous experience tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or working with young people.
  • School-based experience.

The school is based in Caterham, Surrey.

Due to the school's location, this opportunity would be particularly well suited to local candidates living in Surrey, South London, or the surrounding areas, or individuals who are car drivers with access to their own vehicle.
