Job Description

At RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, 185,000 great minds are united by purpose and inspired to make a difference solving the world’s most complex problems. With our three market-leading businesses, world-class operations, and investments in research and development, we offer capabilities and opportunity no one else can. Together, we push the boundaries of known science and find new ways to connect and protect our world. Raytheon brings the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet today's mission needs and stay ahead of tomorrow's threats. We deliver solutions that help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression, creating a safer, more secure world.

Raytheon UK is seeking a hands-on Graduate Technical Support & Sustainment Engineer in Malvern to support complex IT systems used in defense, national security, and other critical environments. This varied role is suited for someone who enjoys understanding and working with technology: building systems, testing upgrades, solving problems, supporting customers, and potentially traveling to sites in the UK and overseas when needed.

You will be involved across the full lifecycle of secure, multi-server, and multi-client systems, including build, configuration, testing, deployment, sustainment, and upgrade. This role offers the opportunity for growth by combining technical depth with real-world impact.

What You Will Do

  • Provide technical support and sustainment for deployed systems, ensuring reliability and adherence to company processes, procedures, and quality standards, including AS9100 accreditation support.
  • Assist in the build phase of complex systems, overseeing hardware assembly, software installation, and system configuration.
  • Plan and execute testing on newly built and upgraded systems, including Integration Testing, Factory Acceptance Testing, and System Acceptance Testing.
  • Provide office-based technical support to customers via phone and email, with occasional out-of-hours support by prior arrangement.
  • Travel within the UK and overseas to deliver, commission, upgrade, diagnose, and resolve issues on systems originally built in Malvern.
  • Work with a broad technology stack, including Microsoft products, Linux distributions, Active Directory, certificates, networking, storage solutions, and virtualization.
  • Maintain locally held replicas of customer systems for troubleshooting, upgrade testing, and issue resolution.
  • Demonstrate software and systems to internal and external customers, contributing to continuous improvement and lean activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
