Job Title: Graduate Town Planner

Ref: BM340

Location: Colchester

Salary: GBP30,000 - GBP35,000

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing multi-disciplined property consultancy who work alongside a range of developers, investors, private, and public sector clients. They are looking for an experienced and talented Graduate Town Planner to join their team in their Colchester offices.

Duties For The Role Of Graduate Town Planner

  • Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications across a range of development types
  • Undertaking planning appraisals and assessing development opportunities
  • Supporting senior colleagues with strategic land promotion and development projects
  • Preparing planning statements, reports, representations, and other planning documentation
  • Researching planning policy and legislation and advising on its implications
  • Liaising with local planning authorities, statutory consultees, consultants, clients, and other stakeholders
  • Assisting with planning appeals, enforcement matters, and planning committee work
  • Monitoring planning applications and managing projects through the planning process
  • Attending site visits, client meetings, and planning meetings

Requirements For The Role Of Graduate Town Planner

  • A degree and/or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning, Spatial Planning, Urban Planning, or a related discipline
  • Previous experience working within a planning consultancy, local authority, or similar planning environment
  • A good understanding of the UK planning system and current planning policy
  • Experience of preparing or assisting with planning applications and supporting documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • A commercially-minded and solutions-focused approach
  • The confidence to communicate with clients, consultants, and planning authorities
  • A willingness to learn and take responsibility for your own development
  • A full UK driving licence would be advantageous due to the nature of the role
