Are you a recent graduate looking to build a career in town planning?
We're currently working with an established and growing planning consultancy that is looking to appoint a Graduate Planner to join its team in Macclesfield.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent planning graduate to gain hands-on experience across a broad range of projects, working alongside experienced planning professionals and developing the skills needed to progress within the industry.
The Role
As a Graduate Planner, you'll support the planning team across a variety of projects, gaining exposure to the full planning process and developing your professional knowledge.
You'll have the opportunity to work on a range of planning applications and projects while receiving support and guidance from experienced colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications.
- Supporting planning research and site appraisals.
- Reviewing local planning policies and planning documents.
- Undertaking research into planning history and relevant legislation.
- Assisting with planning statements, reports, and other project documentation.
- Communicating with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Monitoring planning applications and providing updates to clients.
- Supporting senior planners with a variety of residential, commercial, and other development projects.
- Keeping up to date with changes to planning policy and legislation.
- Developing your professional knowledge and progressing towards becoming a fully qualified planning professional.

Requirements
We're looking for a motivated graduate who is keen to establish a long-term career within planning.
Ideally, You'll Have
- A degree in Town Planning, Planning and Development, or a closely related subject.
- A genuine interest in the planning and development sector.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent research and analytical abilities.
- Good organization and attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
