Job Title: Graduate Town Planner

Ref: BM339

Location: Saffron Walden

Salary: GBP26,000 - GBP32,000

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an independent property consultancy who provide a wide range of expertise to residential, commercial, and rural projects. They are on the lookout for an enthusiastic and proactive Graduate Town Planner to join their team in their Saffron Walden offices.

Duties For The Role Of Graduate Town Planner

  • Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications
  • Undertaking planning research, policy reviews, and site appraisals
  • Assisting with planning statements, appeal documents, and other technical reports
  • Supporting the promotion of strategic development sites through the planning system
  • Researching local and national planning policy and emerging legislation
  • Liaising with clients, local planning authorities, consultants, and other stakeholders
  • Attending site visits, meetings, and planning committees where appropriate
  • Assisting senior members of the team with a varied portfolio of projects

Requirements For The Role Of Graduate Town Planner

  • A degree in Town Planning, Planning, Geography, Urban Planning, or a related discipline
  • A relevant postgraduate planning qualification would be advantageous, but is not essential
  • A strong interest in the UK planning system and the development process
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good research, analytical, and report-writing abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Confidence working both independently and as part of a wider team
  • A proactive, commercially minded, and positive approach
  • A full UK driving licence, or the ability to travel to sites and client meetings as required
