Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Working Pattern: Hybrid and flexible working available after probation

The Opportunity

As a Graduate Trainee Accountant, you will gain hands-on experience across a wide range of accounting tasks while working towards your professional qualifications. You will assist with bookkeeping, VAT returns, payroll processing, and the preparation of financial statements for a diverse client portfolio. This role offers the opportunity to learn from experienced accountants, develop technical skills, and build strong client relationships.


What You'll Be Doing

As our Graduate Trainee Accountant, you'll be responsible for:

  • Accounts preparation for a variety of businesses from self-employed businesses to simple limited company accounts through to Manager review, including full reconciliation of balance sheet items and summary file notes
  • Ad hoc bookkeeping for clients
  • Preparation of noncomplex tax computations for Tax Manager review
  • Company secretarial filing production
  • Liaising with clients on accounts and tax queries as required
  • Prepare analysis of accounting data from clients' books and records
  • Identify and understand client needs, including sometimes providing initial solutions to client challenges
  • Delivery of internal and personal targets
  • Training towards accountancy qualification after an initial settling in period
  • Travel to clients as required

  • A degree in a relevant subject is required.
  • Highly organised and efficient, with strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Confident in asking for support when needed.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Intermediate Excel skills as a minimum requirement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • A commitment to delivering excellent client service
