Graduate Transport Planner – Cambridge
Location: Cambridge
Salary: Flexible depending on experience + benefits package
Emtech Recruitment are working with a growing medium-sized engineering consultancy that are looking for a Graduate Transport Planner to join their expanding team based in Cambridge. The consultancy works on a diverse range of projects across the UK, including large-scale residential developments, schools, industrial schemes, retail and commercial developments.
The Role
As a Graduate Transport Planner, you will work alongside experienced Transport Planning professionals and gain exposure to a wide range of projects and responsibilities, including:
- Preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans
- Undertaking junction modelling and analysis
- Producing junction and highway layouts, with AutoCAD experience desirable
- Carrying out technical analysis using software such as Junctions 11, ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG
- Supporting projects from initial feasibility through to planning and delivery
- Working across a variety of residential, retail, commercial and mixed-use developments
- Communicating with clients and other project stakeholders
- Attending site visits and supporting the wider project team

About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- A relevant degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or a related subject
- An interest in developing a career within Transport Planning
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- A willingness to learn and develop technically
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, as site visits will be required

The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established consultancy with a growing Transport Planning team. You will work closely with experienced Directors and senior members of the team, gaining hands-on experience across a broad range of projects while developing your technical and consultancy skills. There is also the opportunity to take increasing responsibility for your own projects as your experience develops.
