Graduate Transport Planner
As the demand for our expertise continues to grow, we have an exciting opportunity for Graduate Transport Planners to join our Teams based in London, Birmingham and Manchester.
Our strong and diverse client base means that no one day is the same. Our staff advise on an extensive portfolio of projects which includes mixed-use regeneration, residential, employment, logistics, retail, leisure and education. As a Graduate Transport Planner, you will be responsible for assisting in the provision of a wide range of Transport Planning services and will play a key role with delivering innovative solutions for our client’s whilst developing and strengthening our transport planning offer across the business.
You will help design and deliver creative and sustainable transport solutions that improve the places and spaces that shape the world around us. Working alongside the team, you’ll use a suite of specialist software and data analytics to support projects spanning a large range of land uses, helping clients create safer, more sustainable, and connected developments.

The position
- Report to and take direction from Project Managers and Team Leads
- Support in the development of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans
- Under supervision, complete transport modelling appraisals using a suite of specialist industry software
- Carry out data analysis and calculations to inform transport studies
- Prepare reports and general correspondence as required in connection with projects
- Undertake survey commissions and acquire data from third-parties
- Liaise with other members of the transport planning and design team
- Assist in the preparation of preliminary design drawings
- Visiting sites and attending client meetings
- Ensure that mode document management and QA procedures are complied with
- Ensure design drawings, graphics, reports, and other deliverables for projects are to expected quality standards prior to issue

The candidate
As a guide the successful candidate will have the following:
- A relevant master’s or bachelor’s degree
- A member (or seeking to be) of a professional membership, such as CIHT or ICE
- Excellent communication skills, in both written and spoken English
- A strong work ethic with resilience, analytical thinking, creativity and being a Team Player
- Collaborative mindset and able to work with minimal supervision and use own initiative
- Keen to undertake professional development leading to a professional qualification
