As a Graduate Building Services Manager, you will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) services within fast-paced commercial fit out environments. Working alongside experienced Building Services and Project Managers, you will gain hands-on experience in managing service installations, reviewing technical designs, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop your technical knowledge of building services within interior fit out projects, where programme management, coordination, and client satisfaction are critical to success. You will play an important part in ensuring MEP works are integrated seamlessly into high-quality workplace, retail, and commercial environments.

Job Description:

The Assistant Building Services Manager will assist the Building Services team throughout the project lifecycle, from pre-construction through to project completion and aftercare.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting with the review of Mechanical and Electrical designs during both pre-construction and live project stages, ensuring designs are practical, coordinated, and suitable for fit out delivery.
  • Supporting the coordination of MEP services within commercial interior fit out projects, helping to identify and resolve design and installation challenges.
  • Attending project meetings with clients, consultants, specialist subcontractors, and internal teams to gain experience and provide support on building services matters.
  • Assisting site teams with the management, coordination, and quality assurance of MEP installations on site.
  • Supporting the resolution of technical building services issues that may arise during construction.
  • Working closely with project and site management teams to ensure construction activities are coordinated with MEP installations and programme requirements.
  • Assisting in the review of technical submissions, shop drawings, and Requests for Information (RFIs) from the supply chain before submission to clients and consultants.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of project commissioning and handover plans.
  • Assisting in the review of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and quality documentation associated with building services installations.
  • Working with specialist subcontractors to help develop installation, testing, and commissioning programmes that align with the overall fit out programme.
  • Supporting the commissioning and handover process, including client demonstrations, user training, and the production of operation and maintenance documentation.
  • Assisting with the management of post-completion activities and aftercare requirements to ensure client satisfaction and smooth building occupation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
