Grant & Partnerships Manager
Remote | Monthly London meet-ups | Up to £85,000 + Equity
Are you brilliant at turning ambitious ideas into fundable projects, and building the relationships that make them happen?
We’re partnering with an exciting technology start-up at a pivotal stage of its growth to hire a Grant & Partnerships Manager. This is a high-ownership role working directly with the CTO and Co-Founder, taking responsibility for identifying, shaping and securing grant funding while developing the partnerships needed to deliver ambitious programmes.
This isn’t simply a grant-writing role. You’ll be involved much earlier in the process, spotting opportunities, shaping submissions, deciding which projects and work packages fit which funding routes, and building relationships across government, industry and the wider ecosystem.
What you’ll be doing
- Own the end-to-end grant process, from identifying relevant funding opportunities through to submission, reporting and delivery.
- Write compelling, technically credible grant applications and proposals.
- Assess which projects and workstreams are best suited to different funding opportunities.
- Help determine appropriate funding requests, project scope, milestones and work packages.
- Manage grant reporting and milestone submissions, working closely with the technical team without creating unnecessary distraction for engineering.
- Build and maintain relationships with public-sector funding bodies, government organisations and other key stakeholders in the UK and internationally.
- Develop partnerships with organisations across sectors including agriculture, water, satellite technology and environmental innovation.
- Identify and engage potential project partners, helping secure the commercial and operational commitments required for collaborative funding applications.
- Work directly with the CTO and Co-Founder to understand upcoming projects and translate technical innovation into strong funding propositions.
- Create structure around the grants and partnerships function as the business continues to scale.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we’re looking for
- Strong experience securing and managing grant funding, ideally within a technology, engineering, science, climate, AgriTech or similarly innovation-led environment.
- Understanding that successful funding applications aren’t built through great writing alone. Relationships, timing, understanding funding priorities and creating the right consortium or partnership can be just as important.
- Comfortable operating autonomously, building relationships with senior external stakeholders and translating complex technical work into clear, persuasive proposals.
- Experience with UK and/or international public funding programmes would be particularly valuable, as would experience managing collaborative projects involving multiple commercial or public-sector partners.
- Most importantly, someone who enjoys ownership. This is a start-up/scale-up environment where priorities can move quickly, so you’ll need to be proactive, commercially minded and comfortable creating structure rather than waiting for it.
