Reed Finance are pleased to be supporting a leading innovation and technology organisation in the recruitment of a Grants Accountant to join their finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded organisation at the forefront of research, engineering and advanced manufacturing.
Working closely with finance, project and operational teams, you will play a key role in managing grant-funded activity, ensuring compliance, accuracy and timely reporting.
The successful candidate will be a detail-focused finance professional with strong analytical skills and experience supporting audit and compliance processes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end grant claim process, ensuring submissions are accurate, compliant and submitted on time
- Prepare grant calculations, reporting and reconciliations for funded projects
- Work closely with project teams, PMO and finance colleagues to improve grant management processes and reporting accuracy
- Act as a key contact for external auditors, providing supporting information and responding to queries
- Produce grant rate calculations, including labour, equipment and overhead rates, in line with funder requirements
- Monitor grant expenditure and provide regular reporting to budget holders
- Complete monthly reconciliations between grant claims and the general ledger
- Support wider finance activities, including statutory audit requirements and ad hoc reporting

Candidate Requirements:
- Experience within a project-based or grant-funded environment
- Experience working with large datasets and producing accurate financial information
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Previous experience supporting audits, compliance activities or working with external auditors
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to collaborate across departments
- Well organised, adaptable and able to manage competing priorities within tight deadlines
