About The Role
Pay Details: Grade 8 SCP 26-30 £37,280 - £40,777
Main Place of Work: Civic Offices, Barry
What You'll Be Doing
As part of our supportive and collaborative team, you will:
- Work alongside Grants Officers and Occupational Therapists to facilitate adaptations that enhance safety, accessibility, and independence within people's homes.
- Provide specialist advice and guidance on a wide range of home adaptations.
- Support Occupational Therapists in developing recommendations and identifying innovative solutions to meet individuals' needs.
- Promote strengths-based practice, empowering people to achieve their goals and maximise their independence.
- Build effective partnerships with housing providers, contractors, health professionals, and community services.
- Contribute to service development, helping us continuously improve and deliver high-quality outcomes for residents.

About You
You will need:
- 2 years post qualification experience of building construction or relating area
- Knowledge and experience of relevant service area delivery to the public
- Ability to work directly with the public
- Good analytical and all-round communication skills
- Keep concise records
- Ability to work as part of a team and under instruction
- Ability to work on own initiative when required
- Good customer skills
- Minimum HNC or equivalent in building construction or other related discipline (exceptional candidates working towards the qualification will be considered).
- Positive and well-motivated
- Integrity and honesty
- Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends
- Sensitive to the needs of service users
- Ability to drive/travel throughout the Vale or between locations as appropriate
