Role Description
The Grants Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Suffolk, UK responsible for securing and managing funding that supports the Trust’s conservation and community initiatives.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Identifying funding opportunities.
- Developing compelling grant proposals.
- Coordinating supporting documentation and budgets.
- Overseeing grant reporting.
- Ensuring compliance with funder requirements.
- Maintaining accurate records of applications, awards, and outcomes.

The role collaborates with conservation, finance, and outreach teams to align funding priorities with strategic goals and project needs. This position also involves building and maintaining positive relationships with funders, providing updates on project impact, and contributing to long-term fundraising strategies.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in grant writing, proposal development, and managing funded projects.
- Strong skills in research, data gathering, and analysis to identify funding opportunities and support evidence-based proposals.
- Proficiency in budgeting, financial tracking, and reporting for grants and funded programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners, as well as work independently with accountability.
- Interest in or knowledge of wildlife conservation, environmental issues, or nonprofit work; experience in these areas is an advantage.
- Competence with standard office software and databases; experience with grant management or CRM systems is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Nonprofit Management, Environmental Studies, Communications, Business, or equivalent experience.
