SHÉLA Global CIC is a UK-registered Community Interest Company dedicated to advancing equity for queer women and non-binary people. SHÉLA Global delivers its mission through structured programs, storytelling, research, partnerships, and advocacy. Team members collaborate remotely to support inclusive initiatives that drive systemic change and empower marginalised voices.
Role Description
The Grants & Partnership Officer is a volunteer, remote role responsible for identifying, cultivating, and managing funding and collaboration opportunities that support SHÉLA Global’s programs and initiatives. On a day-to-day basis, this role involves:
- Researching relevant grant opportunities and potential partners
- Drafting grant proposals and applications
- Maintaining documentation for grants and partnership activities
- Developing and nurturing strategic relationships with donors, community organisations, and institutional partners
- Coordinating with internal stakeholders to align partnership and grant activities with organisational priorities
- Tracking deadlines
- Monitoring grant and partnership deliverables
- Contributing to impact reporting
- Supporting outreach and communication efforts to strengthen SHÉLA Global’s visibility and effectiveness

- Strong skills in partnerships and strategic partnerships, with the ability to identify, build, and sustain collaborative relationships.
- Excellent communication skills, including clear written communication for grant proposals and professional verbal communication with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management and organisational skills to handle multiple grant applications, timelines, and partnership activities efficiently.
- Experience or familiarity with fundraising, grant writing, or donor relations in nonprofit or community-focused organisations.
- Understanding of and alignment with issues affecting queer women and non-binary communities, and a commitment to equity and inclusion.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and collaborate across diverse teams and time zones.
- Relevant academic background or professional experience in community development, social impact, public policy, or related fields is an advantage.
