Role Description
The Grants Writer is a remote, contract role responsible for researching, developing, and writing compelling grant proposals and funding applications for a range of charitable and community-focused clients. Day-to-day tasks include identifying suitable grant and tender opportunities, conducting prospect research, and aligning proposals with funder guidelines and client objectives. The role involves collaborating with client teams to gather project information, budgets, and impact data, and translating this into clear, persuasive narratives that enhance funding success. The Grants Writer will also support application reviews, contribute to funding strategies, maintain accurate grant records, and help refine processes that strengthen clients’ competitive edge.

- Demonstrated expertise in Grant Writing and Proposal Writing, with a track record of successful funding bids.
- Experience in Grant Administration, including managing application calendars, reporting requirements, and compliance.
- Strong Prospect Research skills to identify and evaluate suitable grant-makers and funding opportunities.
- Background in Fundraising, particularly within charities, social enterprises, or community organizations.
- Excellent written communication, editing, and storytelling skills, with attention to clarity, accuracy, and tone.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple deadlines, and prioritize competing tasks.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, including basic budgeting and outcomes/impact reporting understanding.
- Familiarity with the nonprofit or third sector landscape; prior experience with UK or international funders is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as Communications, English, Public Administration, or Nonprofit Management) or equivalent professional experience.
