Graphic Designer, talkSPORT.com

Role: Casual - flexible hours based on team needs and the sporting calendar.
Location: London Bridge (minimum three days a week).

The Team

talkSPORT is the world’s biggest sports radio station and a globally renowned digital publisher, with a social footprint of more than 13M followers.

The talkSPORT.com team spans several departments – including editorial, social, audience and tech – and we’re looking for a new Graphic Designer to work within our social media team, creating visually striking and on-brand imagery around the latest sports news, for native posting and to feature within website content.

The Role

talkSPORT is looking for a Graphic Designer (Casual) to join our digital team.

You’ll utilise your creativity to take a proactive lead on creating bespoke, high-quality images for our various social media channels. These will serve to spark on-platform engagement – encouraging audiences to interact with our posts – and to drive traffic back to our owned and operated platform, talksport.com.

Working closely with the Social Media Editor and wider editorial team, you’ll support the day-to-day running of our Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube accounts, ensuring talkSPORT is both leading and setting the agenda when it comes to sport’s biggest news stories and talking points, namely across Football and Boxing.

This is a hands-on and fast-paced role, with a need for creating graphics at speed around breaking news, in addition to leveraging your creativity to ideate and design more high-end, pre-planned graphics in advance of events taking place.

The ideal candidate will be someone with great design skills, editorial nous and a creative mind, who lives and breathes sport and wants to kick-start their career in social or digital media.

Day to day you will:

  • Create highly engaging graphics for our social channels and website articles, based on the sporting news cycle, to encourage conversation and debate
  • Write sharp, eye-catching headlines and captions that help drive views, engagement and conversation
  • Create and crop visuals using Photoshop, Canva, or similar tools to support our editorial teams
  • React quickly to breaking news, trending topics, and live sports moments with timely, platform-optimised posts
  • Lead and participate in ideation sessions to come up with new and creative concepts based on past successes and the current news cycle
  • Help monitor real-time engagement data to inform what’s working and interact with users’ comments
  • Work collaboratively with the wider editorial and video teams to ensure content consistency across platforms

What we’re looking for in the ideal candidate:

  • Comfortable using Photoshop and/or possess high-level graphic design skills
  • Strong knowledge and passion for multiple sports, with a particular interest in Football and Boxing
  • Experience of creating and scheduling content across various social channels
  • Understanding of what content performs well across specific platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, X and TikTok
  • Excellent spelling, grammar and attention to detail
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends around key sporting events
  • Able to commute into our London Bridge offices at least three times a week
