About Cardiff Met

At Cardiff Met, our brand is shaped by creativity, innovation and people. We're looking for a talented Graphic Designer to join our in-house creative team, helping us bring our brand to life through innovative and engaging visual communications.

Role Overview

You’ll play an important role in shaping how Cardiff Met is seen by prospective students, staff, partners and wider audiences. From global marketing campaigns and prospectuses to digital assets, exhibitions and signage, your creativity will help tell our story and strengthen our visual identity. You’ll be empowered to develop fresh ideas, work on a diverse range of projects and contribute to the ongoing evolution of our brand.

You’ll Make An Impact By

  • Supporting the creative delivery and ongoing development of the University’s brand across print, exhibitions and digital outputs.
  • Managing creative projects from concept to completion, delivering innovative solutions that align with brand and campaign objectives.
  • Building trusted relationships with colleagues across the University, providing expert design advice and a responsive in-house creative service.
  • Ensuring creative outputs reflect inclusivity, diversity and accessibility, while meeting bilingual and brand standards.

This role is offered on a hybrid basis, with at least one day per week on campus and flexibility to work from home or the office on the remaining days.

What you’ll bring

You'll be a creative and technically skilled designer with substantial professional experience in a marketing, communications or design environment. Supported by a strong portfolio of recent commercial graphic, print and digital design work, you'll have expertise in creating engaging print and digital communications, preparing artwork for professional print and delivering high-quality design solutions to tight deadlines.

Additionally, You'll

  • Demonstrate advanced skills in industry software such as QuarkXPress 2026, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat within a Mac OS environment.
  • Understand the effective and appropriate use of imagery and illustration, including copyright, licensing and legal considerations.
  • Have experience creating bilingual materials along with an understanding or appreciation of Welsh language standards.
  • Possess strong typographic, layout and visual design skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Be an effective communicator who can build productive relationships and work confidently with stakeholders.
