Full-time | Office-based | Maidstone, Kent
We’re looking for an experienced Midweight Graphic Designer with strong editorial layout, print and digital design skills to join our in-house Design & Production team at Centurian Media.
This is a hands-on role for a confident designer with a strong eye for layout, typography and visual storytelling, who can take projects from initial brief through to polished final artwork.
A key part of the role will be designing our monthly B2B magazines, working closely with our Editorial and Sales teams to transform supplied content into eye-catching, engaging and well-structured editorial layouts while working to established brand identities and monthly deadlines.
Beyond our magazines, you’ll work across a broad mix of creative projects, including digital campaigns, social media, advertising, event collateral and promotional materials for our international brands. We’re looking for someone who is highly confident in Adobe InDesign and can demonstrate strong editorial layout, print and digital design within their portfolio.
What you will be doing
- Designing engaging editorial layouts for our monthly print and digital magazines
- Working closely with editors to transform supplied content into visually strong, well-structured features
- Liaising with Editorial, Sales and Design teams throughout the monthly magazine cycle
- Taking designs from initial brief through to accurate, print-ready final artwork
- Working confidently with typography, imagery, grids, hierarchy and page composition
- Managing advertising and commercial content within our magazines
- Maintaining consistency across established magazine and brand identities
- Creating digital graphics for social media, newsletters, websites and promotional campaigns
- Designing print and digital collateral for our in-person, worldwide events and wider marketing activity
- Managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Responding to feedback and amends accurately and efficiently
- Bringing new ideas to the team and helping develop the visual direction of our brands

What we are looking for
- 3+ years’ professional graphic design experience
- A portfolio demonstrating strong editorial layout, print and digital design
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign, alongside strong Photoshop and Illustrator skills
- Excellent typography, layout, hierarchy and image-selection skills
- A strong understanding of designing for both print and digital outputs
- Experience preparing accurate artwork for professional print production
- Confidence taking projects from initial concept through to final artwork
- The ability to work effectively with Editorial and Sales teams, understanding different requirements and translating them into strong creative
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with large amounts of editorial content
- The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines without compromising quality
- Confidence working within established brand guidelines while bringing your own creative thinking
- Experience designing brochures, reports, catalogues or other multi-page editorial content would be highly advantageous.

The details
- Location: Maidstone Studios, New Cut Road, Maidstone, Kent, ME14 5NZ
- Working arrangement: Full-time, office-based
- Please note: This is not a hybrid or remote position. The role is based in our Maidstone office five days a week, so applicants will need to be able to reliably commute to the office.

Our interview process
Our recruitment process has three stages:
- Video Call – A short 20 to 30-minute introduction to get to know each other, discuss your experience and portfolio and answer any questions you have about the role.
- Design Task – A design task to demonstrate your layout skills and how well you can interpret a brief and apply our branding.
- Face-to-Face Interview – A final interview at our Maidstone office with our COO and Design & Production Manager.
