Graphic Technician (Pre-Press / Technical Designer)

Got a great eye for detail and know your way around Adobe Illustrator? 🎨

💷 Salary: Depending on experience

⏰ Hours: Full-time, permanent

We’re looking for a talented Graphic Technician (Pre-Press / Technical Designer) to join the graphics department of an established UK manufacturer.

This isn’t purely a creative design position. It’s a hands-on, technical graphics role where you’ll prepare artwork and files ready to move into production.

If you’re accurate, organised and confident working with Adobe Illustrator, this could be a brilliant opportunity to develop your technical skills within a busy manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Graphic Technician, You’ll:

  • Prepare and set up artwork files ready for production
  • Ensure artwork has the correct bleed, scale and colour settings
  • Convert and manage different file formats
  • Interpret briefs and technical drawings
  • Work closely with production colleagues to ensure files are set up correctly
  • Help minimise errors and unnecessary rework
  • Maintain organised project files and documentation
  • Support the graphics and production teams in meeting deadlines
  • Ensure consistently high standards of accuracy and quality

Essential Qualifications / Skills

You’ll need strong Adobe Illustrator skills alongside excellent accuracy and attention to detail.

Previous experience preparing artwork within a print, manufacturing or similar production environment would be advantageous, but isn’t essential.

Experience with 2D CAD software would also be an advantage, as would knowledge of colour management and preparing artwork for production processes.
