Green Finance Analyst

We're looking for a Green Finance Analyst to help scale our investment in nature and climate. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in designing financial instruments that underpin innovative Green Finance solutions, helping unlock new sources of funding for nature and climate outcomes.

Working at the intersection of finance, data, and nature markets, you'll support the development of investment propositions across areas such as Biodiversity Net Gain, Nutrient Neutrality, Carbon, and Payments for Ecosystem Services. You'll combine strong financial analysis, modelling expertise, and strategic thinking to help shape funding decisions, improve consistency across Green Finance activities, and strengthen the Trust's position as a leader in this rapidly evolving market.

What It's Like To Work Here

You'll join a collaborative and ambitious Treasury team that plays a critical role in ensuring the Trust has the financial resources needed to deliver its long-term goals.

  • Significant Scope for Learning, Collaboration, and Innovation: Work with specialists from across the organisation, develop expertise in emerging environmental markets, and help establish new approaches to Green Finance that support both nature recovery and organisational sustainability.
  • Hybrid Working Arrangement: This role is based at our Swindon head office, with flexibility to agree a hybrid working arrangement that works for you and the organisation. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
