Serve as the public face of Veritable Vegetable and first point of contact for customers, vendors, and applicants. Screen/direct walk-ins and multi-line telephone calls and provide administrative support to all departments to ensure the smooth functioning of our operation.
Responsibilities
- Manage company switchboard; determine caller needs and accurately route to appropriate staff/department
- Greet visitors, determine nature of business and announce visitors to the appropriate staff; screen unsolicited salespeople, job applicants and other walk-ins, as necessary
- Issue guest badges and make sure guests sign-in at the front desk before entry
- Assist customers with daily will-call pickups
- Keep reception area neat/clean/uncluttered in order for front desk to operate efficiently
- Sort and process mail to ensure items are delivered to the proper department, in a timely manner
- Understand and follow VV’s safety policies, procedures and best practices including food safety, safe use of equipment and safe lifting practices
- Assist Purchasing department with compliance support for organic certification and food safety
- Assist VV Managers with a variety of clerical duties
- Assist VV with office and non-office supplies, as needed
- Assist Facilities in daily maintenance of office, kitchen, and bathrooms, as needed
- Provide warehouse support as requested
- Participate as required in other tasks as directed by the Director of Sales to achieve department goals.

Qualifications
- At least 1 year of full-time work experience with front desk and switchboard operations
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; college degree is a plus
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) and other databases
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational/administrative skills
- Friendly, articulate, empathetic communicator; outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills
- Bilingual skills, a plus
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to type repetitively on a keyboard
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, twist and perform a variety of other physical functions on a consistent basis
- Must be able to lift up to 45lbs. without assistance; over 45lbs with assistance
- Must be able to work in varying environments including the ability to withstand cold temperatures with proper protective clothing for several hours at a time.
- Must be able to follow safety procedures (i.e., proper lifting techniques)

Wage Range
- $23.00 – $27.00/hour, depending upon experience
