Green Hub Factory Shop & Studio Support - Internal Only

Application Deadline: 18 October 2026

Department: Green Hub

Employment Type: Fixed Term - Full Time

Location: Poole, Dorset - Nuffield Industrial Estate

Compensation: £13.70 / hour

Description

This is currently an internal-only role (Temporary 6 Month Role)

The Green Hub

The Green Hub is Lush’s internal repair, reuse and recycling plant responsible for the important work of processing all waste streams from the manufacturing sites, as well as the packaging returned by customers in our stores. As a goal, we aim to make our internal and customer packaging as circular as possible, making sure materials are recycled back into packaging (closed loop), or cleaned and reused.

The Green Hub also attracts many visitors, including school groups, members of the local council and journalists to name but a few, in turn holding a professional manner and communicating confidently with the public is a must.

In the summer of 2026, the Green Hub shop underwent a minor refurbishment and has now reopened as a ‘factory’ shop for Lush employees that offers a rotating stock of discounted past-freshness products, as well as some discontinued home and lifestyle wares. It serves as a unique shopping space that helps reduce manufacturing waste and raises funds to support environmental, sustainability, and efficiency projects.

The Team

The Green Hub team is currently made up of 25 people that facilitate the waste management process and materials processing; including Recycling Assistants who are based within the building, Van Drivers and Forklift Operators who support the internal logistics and removal of waste from Manufacturing, and Machine Operators who operate the Granulators.

The management/support team consists of a Business Manager, two Assistant Managers, a Studio & Engagement Coordinator, a Wastewater & Environmental Specialist, and two Team Leaders who are responsible for supporting the team with their day to day needs and ensuring the operations run smoothly.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The Role

This role acts as the first point of contact for the Green Hub shop, providing 5-star customer service to all internal (and some external) visitors. Our hopes are to expand the opening days of the shop and open up to members of the public, and your role will be instrumental in making that happen! You'll be an outgoing, friendly person with a positive, can-do attitude, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. You will split your time between the shop and the studio, supporting the running of the shop during opening hours, restocking whilst it's closed, and ensuring the studio is running smoothly and efficiently. From time to time you will be expected to support ad hoc events.

Please note: We may close this vacancy early if we receive an overwhelming response or our business requirements change.

Responsibilities

Shop

  • Provide proactive, high-quality customer service in the shop, assisting shoppers with enquiries and handling transactions with a smile.
  • Communicate the factory shop T&Cs; checking staff IDs, communicating our bulk buying policy, explaining the freshness policy, non-English labels etc.
  • Operate the tills, ensuring accurate financial records and security.
  • Help keep our inventory in check by restocking shelves, making sure everything is in its place, marking barcodes and pricing stock items.
  • Liaise with the Donations/Scrap team to transfer new stock into the shop with the help of the team.
  • Keep our store sparkling clean and inviting, creating a space that adds to our customers' shopping joy.
  • Be the go-to for customer questions, resolve issues, and make sure our customers are genuinely cared for.
  • Dive into training sessions with excitement, soaking up knowledge to grow both personally and professionally.
  • Get creative with displays and keep our store looking fabulous, using this as a way to help our customers find the right products while they’re shopping.
