About the Role
Dunblane New Golf Club is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Greenkeeper to join our greenkeeping team. The successful candidate will play an important role in the day-to-day preparation, maintenance, and presentation of the golf course, working across greens, tees, approaches, fairways, rough, and bunkers. The club has recently made a significant investment in a new Toro machinery fleet, including modern electric greens machinery, fairway, and rough mowers. This investment provides the greenkeeping team with high-quality, modern equipment to support the continued improvement and presentation of the course.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily preparation and presentation of the golf course.
- Mowing and maintenance of greens, tees, approaches, fairways, and rough.
- Bunker maintenance and presentation.
- Course setup for normal play and competitions.
- Turf maintenance, aeration, scarification, and topdressing.
- Divotting and general turf repairs.
- Irrigation and drainage maintenance.
- Use, cleaning, and routine maintenance of modern turf machinery.
- Seasonal maintenance and winter renovation work.
- Tree, vegetation, and general course maintenance.
- Application of fertilisers and approved turf products where appropriately qualified.
- Working safely and in accordance with club procedures and relevant legislation.
- Supporting the Course Manager with planned maintenance and improvement projects.

Essential Criteria
- Previous experience in greenkeeping, sports turf, or a related horticultural environment.
- A genuine interest in developing a career in golf course maintenance.
- A strong work ethic and reliable approach.
- Good attention to detail and pride in their work.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Good communication skills.
- Commitment to health, safety, and professional working practices.
- A full UK driving licence, or willingness to obtain one.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Sports Turf / Greenkeeping, or equivalent.
- PA1, PA2, and/or PA6 spraying qualifications.
- Previous experience operating professional turf maintenance machinery.
- First Aid qualification.
- Chainsaw or other relevant machinery qualifications.
- Irrigation or drainage experience.
