Climate17 is pleased to be working with a leading renewable energy EPC and O&M provider delivering utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage projects across the UK.

Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are looking to appoint an experienced Grid Engineer to support the design, delivery and energisation of grid connections across major renewable energy projects.

This is a strong opportunity for someone with experience across 33kV and 132kV connections who wants exposure to large-scale Solar PV, BESS and wider grid infrastructure.

The Opportunity

Working closely with engineering, project delivery, commercial teams and external network stakeholders, you will support grid connection projects from early-stage design and tendering through to construction, commissioning and energisation.

You will:

  • Lead and support the design of grid connections in line with DNO and TSO requirements.
  • Develop technical specifications, engineering documentation and connection packages.
  • Manage relationships with DNOs, TSOs and ICPs.
  • Support equipment selection and ensure compliance with relevant Grid Code requirements.
  • Coordinate technical inputs across engineering and project delivery teams.
  • Support the procurement and management of ICP contractors and subcontractors.
  • Assist with grid studies, protection settings, commissioning documentation and energisation.
  • Provide technical support throughout construction and operational phases.
  • Support the delivery of utility-scale BESS and Solar PV projects.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
