Grounds Maintenance Operative
Location: Leicester
Job Type: Temporary
Start Date: 7th September 2026
End Date: 30th October 2026
Pay Rate: £13.47 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday (exact hours to be confirmed)
About The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join a busy team based in Leicester. This is a hands-on role maintaining both hard and soft landscaped areas, helping to ensure communities remain clean, safe, and well-presented.
The successful candidate will be working as part of a small team carrying out a variety of grounds maintenance duties across residential and communal areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Grass cutting and lawn maintenance.
- Hedge trimming and shrub maintenance.
- Litter picking and leaf clearance.
- Cultivation and upkeep of shrub beds.
- Removal of fly tipping and general rubbish.
- Safely operate hand tools, machinery, and maintenance equipment.
- Report health, safety, and environmental issues to management.
- Deliver excellent customer service when interacting with residents and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate community or environmental concerns.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across different sites and contracts.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and undertake relevant training.

Essential Requirements
- Previous grounds maintenance experience.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to drive a long wheelbase vehicle or tipper van.
- Ability to undertake physical and manual work.
- Customer-focused attitude with excellent communication skills.
- Basic IT skills.
- Strong team player with a flexible approach to work.
Desirable Requirements
- PA1 Spraying Licence.
- PA6 Spraying Licence.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking reliable, hardworking individuals who take pride in maintaining outdoor environments to a high standard. As this is a small team, the ability to drive company vehicles is highly important to support operational requirements, including holiday and sickness cover.
