Ground Supervisor (6-month contract)
Talentmark is recruiting for a Ground Supervisor to join a leading organisation within the civil construction and energy sector. This role will be based at a major onshore construction site in Norfolk.
Ground Supervisor Role
- Support the safe, coordinated and efficient execution of day-to-day construction activities across the site.
- Maintain a strong and visible presence in the field, ensuring HSE requirements, housekeeping standards, access arrangements and work-area coordination are effectively managed.
- Coordinate interfaces between different trades, disciplines, contractors and subcontractors working on site.
- Act as the day-to-day field coordination point between site management and the workforce, helping identify and resolve issues before they impact safety, quality, programme or productivity.
- Monitor ongoing works, identify potential clashes, access restrictions and conflicting activities, and coordinate sequencing to minimise disruption.
- Carry out regular site walkdowns and ensure work areas, access routes, walkways and emergency routes remain clean, organised and safe.
- Support toolbox talks, daily briefings, inspections, commissioning activities and site safety initiatives where required.
- Monitor progress, highlight constraints or delays and follow up agreed actions through to completion.
- Support coordination during critical construction, completion, commissioning and energisation preparation activities.
- Maintain regular communication with site management regarding HSE observations, housekeeping, work-front readiness, site constraints, access restrictions and outstanding actions.

Your Background
- Strong practical construction-site experience.
- Good understanding of HSE requirements and safe systems of work.
- Strong field supervision and site coordination skills.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple contractors and trades simultaneously.
- Good understanding of construction sequencing and interfaces between different workstreams.
- A proactive approach to housekeeping, site standards and maintaining safe working environments.
- Ability to identify problems at an early stage and drive practical solutions.
- Confident and professional communication skills when working with contractors, subcontractors and site personnel.
- Ability to prioritise competing activities in a busy construction environment.
- Willingness to spend a significant proportion of the working day in the field rather than solely in the site office.
- Strong ownership and the ability to follow actions through to closure.
