We're seeking a dedicated and hardworking Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our customer-focused team. In this role, you'll be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of communal outdoor areas, ensuring they remain safe, clean and visually appealing for our customers.

Contractually based out of our Portsmouth office, you'll be covering Eastleigh and the surrounding South Hampshire area as part of a supportive and professional team. This is a full-time, permanent role, working 39 hours per week. You'll spend most of your time out in our communities, however will also be required to visit our Portsmouth office for training and ad hoc meetings.

Here’s The Facts About The Role

As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, you'll carry out a high standard of grounds work to make our communal grounds areas attractive for customers. You’ll have good communication skills and the ability to interact with residents and colleagues in a friendly and professional manner with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

You’ll have good knowledge and experience in this field with skills to operate a variety of equipment, machines and materials that you’ll use on a daily basis.

Duties Will Include

  • Routine grounds maintenance tasks, such as grass/hedge cutting, trimming, and weeding
  • Hard area maintenance and low-level tree work as well as soft landscaping
  • Shrub maintenance
  • Ensuring communal areas are free from litter and debris.
  • Perform regular inspections to identify and address any potential safety hazards
  • Assist with seasonal tasks, such as leaf removal
  • Operating grounds maintenance equipment and tools
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and from residents

Offers are subject to a satisfactory DBS and a full, clean current driving licence (held for at least 1 year).

While you'll usually work alongside a Grounds Maintenance Team Leader who will drive the company van, there may be occasions where you'll need to drive the van so a full, clean current driving licence is required.

  • Working at heights
  • Manual handling and lifting heavy and bulky items
  • A high degree of mobility, which will include walking/lifting/loading and unloading vehicles
