Job Description: Grounds Maintenance Operative
Pinnacle Group is looking for an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our Total FM Team for Leeds & Kirklees PFI Schools, based at our Morley Depot - Leeds LS27, to ensure our outdoor spaces are well-maintained and visually appealing.
About Us
Our Total Facilities Management team delivers integrated asset management and maintenance services across education, leisure, corporate, health and residential sectors. We focus on keeping facilities running smoothly, safely, and efficiently – helping our clients create spaces that work for everyone.
Key Responsibilities
- Mowing lawns, trimming hedges, planting, weeding, and general landscape upkeep of the contracted sites
- Visiting sites on a weekly/fortnightly basis with schedules set in place for ease of working and getting around to each development in a timely manner
- The safe use of ride-on mowers, rotary mowers, strimmers, leaf blowers and other horticultural machines
- Soil cultivation, digging, forking, mulching, watering, raking, weeding, edging, and pruning
- Lawn maintenance and repairs, bed preparation and planting, Hedge and shrub trimming
- Keeping the borders clear and free from debris and litter at all times
- Gritting, salt spreading and snow clearing when required
- Keeping the tools clean and damage-free, report to manager when necessary
- Ensuring that all visited locations are left in a clean and tidy state
- Maintenance of records relating to tasks performed, materials and equipment
- Promotion of safe working practices

Skills Required
- Self-motivated and can work unsupervised
- Resilient under pressure and able to adapt to changing environments
- Experience in using gardening power tools
- Ability to work to laid-down schedules and in all weather conditions
- Chemical and hand weed control (PA1/ PA6 are desirable but training can be provided)
- Knowledge of the use of chemicals (COSHH) and Health and Safety legislation is desirable.
Requirements
To meet the child safeguarding regulations, the appointment to this role will be subject to completion of an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS Check) & checkable Work References.
