If you enjoy working in a customer-focused environment, can work under your own initiative or as part of a team and are looking for a secure, challenging, and worthwhile job, we may have the position you are looking for
The position is manually challenging but equally rewarding for enthusiastic and hardworking team players. The ideal candidate will have a range of relevant qualifications and/or experience of grounds maintenance. This role will involve all aspects of grounds maintenance. In this role you could be helping maintain our sport provision sites, giving support to our fine turf operatives, or you could be cutting grass on verges and open spaces and completing shrub and hedge maintenance. You may support other teams, and this could be in our parks and cemeteries. There will be many other tasks associated with providing services to the public that you could get involved with.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
