Job Title: Grounds Person

Ardencote Manor | Hiddenwell Luxury Wellness Retreat

Full Time | Permanent

Do you enjoy working outdoors and take pride in seeing a garden or outdoor space looking its best?

We’re looking for a Grounds Person to join the team at Ardencote, helping us care for our gardens, grounds and outdoor areas throughout the year

Set within beautiful Warwickshire countryside, Ardencote is a destination hotel and spa where the appearance of our grounds plays an important part in the experience we create for our guests. From lawns and landscaped gardens to pathways and planting, you’ll help make sure our outdoor spaces are always safe, welcoming and beautifully presented

What You’ll Be Doing

No two days will be exactly the same. Your role will include:

  • Mowing, trimming, edging, weeding and watering
  • Caring for lawns, gardens, plants, trees and shrubs
  • Keeping pathways and outdoor areas clean, tidy and free from leaves and debris
  • Helping with seasonal planting and landscaping projects
  • Planting trees, shrubs, flowers and other plants
  • Keeping an eye on the health and condition of our grounds and reporting any concerns
  • Using grounds maintenance tools and machinery safely
  • Helping with seasonal maintenance throughout the year
  • Supporting improvements to our gardens and landscaped areas

You’ll work closely with our Estate & Facilities Manager and wider team, planning your work around the operation of the hotel and spa and helping us maintain the high standards our guests expect

About You

You don’t necessarily need formal horticultural qualifications. What’s most important is that you’re practical, reliable and enjoy working outdoors

We’d Love To Hear From You If You

  • Have an interest in gardening, landscaping or grounds maintenance
  • Enjoy practical, hands-on work
  • Take pride in doing a job properly and have a good eye for detail
  • Are comfortable using tools and equipment safely
  • Can work independently as well as part of a team
  • Are organised, proactive and dependable
  • Are happy working outdoors in different weather conditions
  • Are comfortable with the physical nature of grounds maintenance work
  • Have a friendly and professional approach

Previous experience in gardening, horticulture, landscaping or grounds maintenance would be an advantage, particularly if you have experience using grounds maintenance machinery or knowledge of plants, lawns, pests and diseases — but we’d also welcome applications from people with the right attitude and a genuine interest in the role

Additional Information

  • 40 hours per week – Full-Time permanent position
  • Working 5 days out of 7 per week (including weekends and bank holidays, you will need to be flexible to the business needs)
  • Right to work in the UK required as time of application (visa sponsorship is not available)
  • Salary: £28,000 per annum
