Role Description
The Groundworker role is a full-time, on-site position based in the midlands but travel further afield may be necessary. Day-to-day responsibilities include carrying out groundworks such as:
- Excavation
- Trenching
- Backfilling
- Concreting
- Kerbing
- Basic drainage installation and remedials in line with project plans and health and safety requirements

The role involves assisting with landscaping, site clearance, and preparation, as well as working around trees and existing infrastructure with care and precision. Groundworkers will collaborate closely with site supervisors and other trades to ensure tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to company standards, while maintaining a clean and organized work area. The position may require operating basic plant and tools, following method statements and risk assessments, and adapting to varying site conditions and project timelines.

Qualifications
- Valid CSCS or CSCS Card demonstrating competence to work safely on construction sites.
- Practical experience in Groundworks, including excavation, concreting, drainage, and related civil construction tasks.
- Knowledge and experience of Landscaping, including site preparation, soft and hard landscaping, and working safely around Trees and vegetation.
- Understanding of construction site health and safety practices, including safe use of tools, PPE, and adherence to method statements and risk assessments.
- Ability to read and follow basic site drawings or instructions and work as part of a multidisciplinary site team.
- Good physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Previous experience in civils, utilities, or infrastructure projects is beneficial.
- Full UK driving license and access to transport are essential.
