Groundworker

PAY RATE: £20 - £22 per hour Umbrella/CIS
CONTRACT TYPE: Temporary – 3 Months
LOCATION: Various Locations – Belfast & County Antrim BT15 3HN
WORKING HOURS: Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 16:30 (40 hours per week)

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Groundworker to carry out general groundwork and construction duties across various locations in Belfast and County Antrim.
The successful candidate will be responsible for site preparation, removal of existing structures, concrete works, installation of oil lines, and general site clearance. The role involves using a Kango Hammer, Stihl Saw, Cement Mixer, and general hand tools.
There may be an opportunity for a full-time position upon completion of the temporary assignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Remove old oil tanks and prepare areas for replacement.
  • Break away existing concrete bases and make good.
  • Run and install new oil lines.
  • Shutter and prepare areas for new concrete bases.
  • Mix and pour concrete for new bases.
  • Use Kango Hammers, Stihl Saws, Cement Mixers, and general hand tools safely.
  • Remove redundant materials and leave sites clean and tidy.
  • Carry out general groundwork and construction duties as required.
  • Follow site instructions and work effectively with other trades.
  • Comply with all relevant health and safety requirements.

Essential Requirements

  • Valid CSCS-affiliated card.
  • Previous experience as a Groundworker.
  • Experience using general construction tools and equipment.
  • Good understanding of construction site health & safety.
  • Physically fit and able to carry out manual labour.
  • Reliable and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid UK/NI driving licence.
  • Right to Work documentation.

Desirable Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Ground working or related discipline.
  • Experience with concrete works, shuttering, and foundations.
  • Relevant plant/machinery qualifications where applicable.
