We are currently looking for an experienced Groundworker with drainage experience to join a busy construction project in Tidworth.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working on civil engineering or construction sites, with a strong understanding of drainage, groundworks and associated activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out drainage and groundworks to the required specification.
  • Installing and connecting drainage pipes, underground drainage and associated systems.
  • Laying pipes, manholes, inspection chambers and associated drainage systems.
  • Carrying out backfilling, compaction and reinstatement works.
  • Installing ducting and other underground services where required.
  • Operating small tools and groundworking equipment.
  • Assisting with concreting, kerbing, foundations and general groundworks.
  • Working safely around excavations and underground services.
  • Following site drawings, RAMS and instructions from the Site Supervisor/Foreman.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working area.
  • Working as part of a wider groundworks/civil engineering team.
  • Carrying out other general groundworks duties as required.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Valid CSCS Card
  • Previous experience as a Groundworker, particularly within drainage/civil engineering.
  • Good understanding of drainage installation and underground works.
  • Ability to read and work from drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with pipe laying, manholes, chambers and trench work.
  • Ability to use levels and work accurately to falls and gradients.
  • Good understanding of site health and safety requirements.
  • Reliable, hardworking and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Previous experience working on construction/civil engineering sites.
