CNX Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a leading design and build contractor specialising in high-quality residential construction projects across Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Due to continued growth, our client is looking to appoint a reliable and hardworking Groundworker / Labourer to support the delivery of bespoke home improvement and residential construction projects. This is a varied, hands-on role combining site-based groundworking and labouring with occasional van driving duties to support the movement of materials and equipment between sites.

This opportunity would suit someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working outdoors and is looking to join a professional, quality-driven construction business.

Working across multiple sites throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians, your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out general groundworking and construction labouring duties.
  • Assisting site teams with excavation, moving materials and supporting the overall build process.
  • Completing routine grounds maintenance and site-related tasks.
  • Delivering and collecting materials, tools and equipment between live sites, suppliers and the company's head office as required.
  • Loading and unloading the company van safely and efficiently.
  • Ensuring deliveries are completed on time and materials are available when required.
  • Completing basic paperwork accurately.
  • Keeping the company vehicle clean, organised and roadworthy.

About You

To be considered, you should have:

  • Previous experience in a Groundworker, Labourer or similar construction role.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence (essential).
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • A reliable and professional approach.
  • Physical fitness to undertake manual work and lifting.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Desirable

  • Experience in drainage, kerbing, slabbing or other basic groundworks.

Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
  • Friday: 8:00am – 3:30pm

Salary & Benefits

  • £14.00–£15.00 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Company van & fuel card
  • Company uniform provided.
  • 28 days annual leave, including public holidays.
