Job Title: Groundworker

Location: Gillingham, Kent

Pay Rate: GBP19.00 per hour

Job Type: Full-time, Temporary

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced, reliable Groundworker to join an active site team in Gillingham. The project is currently transitioning through key structural phases; you will start immediately with foundation work, progressing into drainage installation as the build advances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foundation Stage: Assisting with ground clearance, trench excavation, shuttering, steel fixing, and pouring/finishing concrete footings and floor slabs.
  • Drainage Stage: Laying foul and surface water pipework, constructing manholes/inspection chambers, and backfilling trenches to specified levels.
  • Operating basic plant equipment safely on site (if ticketed).
  • Reading basic drawings/site plans and maintaining high safety standards throughout.

Key Requirements

  • Valid CSCS Card (Essential).
  • Proven background in groundworks, specifically with hands-on experience in foundations and deep/shallow drainage.
  • Full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Strong work ethic, reliable attendance, and the physical fitness required for heavy site tasks.
  • CPCS / NPORS tickets (e.g., Dumper/Forward Tipping, Digger) are a distinct advantage.
