About the Role

This role reports to the Senior Group Accountant and works closely with the Deputy Group Financial Controller and Group Financial Controller as part of a highly skilled and professional Group Finance team. This key role will be responsible for accurate and timely consolidated financial reporting for the Group.

Main Responsibilities

  • Monthly consolidation and preparation of Group results
  • Half year results consolidation and interim accounts reporting
  • Year end results consolidation and statutory financial statements including PLC consolidated accounts and 7 trading subsidiaries (all IFRS)
  • Consolidating the annual budget and preparing budget reporting packs
  • Providing accounting support to the operating divisions
  • Liaising with external auditors during the annual audit process
  • Supporting the timely completion of tax returns and payments
  • Reporting the cash position of the Group through accurate daily tracking and forecasting
  • Ad hoc projects / analysis as required

Key skills:

  • Attention to detail and quality work – strive to deliver highly-quality work at all times as part of a highly motivated, professional team

  • Strong communication skills – ability to summarise information, provide regular progress updates, and relay key messages

Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified accountant, ideally 1-2 years post qualified experience
  • Would suit a first-time mover from practice into industry
  • Ideally Big 4 / Top 10 trained
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS)
  • Experience with group accounts and consolidations would be helpful
