Group Accountant - Public Sector, Portsmouth

Description
As the Group Accountant, you will be responsible for:
- Prepare and deliver accurate financial reports and statements.
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes to support effective planning.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
- Provide financial insights to assist senior management in decision-making.
- Coordinate and manage the preparation of accounts for auditing purposes.
- Monitor and analyse financial performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Support the implementation of financial systems and processes.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure financial consistency and accuracy.

Profile
A Successful Group Accountant Should Have
- A recognised accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and compliance within the public sector.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in financial systems and software.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
