Sharp Consultancy is delighted to be partnering with a well-established organization to recruit a Group Accountant into its high-performing finance function.

With a strong reputation in its market and impressive plans for continued growth, the business is investing in its finance team to ensure it can support an increasingly complex, multi-entity operation.

Reporting directly into senior finance leadership, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering accurate financial reporting while supporting budgeting, forecasting, and commercial decision-making across the group.

Offering exposure to both technical accounting and strategic finance projects, this is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to broaden their experience within a collaborative, forward-thinking organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, delivering insightful analysis and commentary on financial performance.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting activities, partnering with stakeholders to support financial planning and decision-making.
  • Produce monthly group consolidations and ensure timely, accurate group reporting.
  • Prepare statutory accounts and support the year-end audit, acting as a key contact for external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, tax, and VAT requirements.
  • Maintain robust financial controls, including balance sheet reconciliations, month-end close, and governance processes.
  • Business partner with budget holders to monitor performance, challenge costs, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and wider financial planning activities.
  • Collaborate with UK and international finance teams to ensure consistency of reporting and compliance across multiple entities.
  • Focus on continuous improvement across finance processes, systems, and reporting, whilst supporting strategic projects and ad hoc financial analysis.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
