Group Accountant

Full-time, Permanent
Knutsford with hybrid working

The Role

We're looking for a motivated Group Accountant to join our finance team. In this key role, you'll deliver accurate and insightful financial reporting, support group consolidations, budgeting and forecasting, and provide analysis that helps drive business performance and growth.

Working closely with Group and Business Finance teams, you'll help ensure compliance, strengthen financial controls, and identify opportunities to improve processes and systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant who enjoys business partnering, problem-solving, and making a real impact within a growing organisation.

The role will be based in our brand new office in Knutsford with hybrid working arrangements.

What you'll be doing:

  • Support the preparation of monthly Group consolidated accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Review management accounts, providing insights to support business performance and decision-making.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls.
  • Support internal and external audits, statutory accounts, and annual reporting requirements.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
  • Provide support and development for the Group consolidation system (Cognos).
  • Maintain Group accounting policies and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Partner with finance and business teams to resolve accounting and reporting matters.
  • Deliver financial analysis, modelling, and investment appraisals to support strategic decisions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
